Breathing correctly is the most happening thing right now

Breathing correctly is the most happening thing right now

“If there is anything divine in you it is your breath.”
Yogi Bhajan

It is a sad we were taught everything in school from trigonometry to statistics and studied in a system where ‘bookish’ academic knowledge was a measure of intelligence. But we weren’t taught how to breathe.

Breath is life and hence it is called “Prana” in Sanskrit. What I am writing here is not just spirituality or philosophy but science which if applied to day to day life can give you not just better health but better relationships, smooth career growth and abundance in your life.

According to Gabrielle Bernstein - New Yorks best seller author and a Kundalini yoga teacher - when you feel stuck in your life - in your career, relationships and life overall it is because you have been breathing the opposite way. It is ok don’t judge yourself as right or wrong - we weren’t taught these things ever!

Have you checked how you breathe?
Some ways to do so

Pay attention to your breath - are you breathing fast or breathing slow?
Is your breathing deep or shallow?
Are you breathing till your belly?

Do you feel a change after paying attention to your breath?

Here are a few things you could do as a #wellnesslifestyle

- Slow down : take a few minutes daily to take long deep breaths inflating your abdomen as you breathe in and deflating it as you go out. Many of us do it the opposite way
. It is time you change that

- Whenever you panic or get stressed immediately deep breathe. Your body will automatically support you and give you relief. As you change your rate of breathing you change your state of mind thus harmonising Mind Body and Spirit

- Meditate daily for 15 mins atleast however busy you are with your spine straight.Breathe and meditate together with your spouse. If you have young children make them sit with you and meditate as a family. Children grasp it quickly and you ll be surprised how it increases harmonious relationships.

- Keep a journal of meditation and thoughts handy

-  You can use technology with apps like insight timer or headspace or simply youtube with guided meditations. You can also refer to my Youtube channel - we have a lot of meditations there (link below)

- Join a Yoga class and learn breathing from a certified Yoga teacher.

Remember- The slower you breathe , the calmer your mind gets✍🏻
