Dear Zindagi..With love

Image
Okay..there are some who loved it and some who hated it.. It is definitely a slow film but has a very deep topic which only a few will understand. However if you do not ‘feel” enough..you may be put off by it I am a big fan of Alternative healing, psycho therapy and NLP techniques. The movie shows various techniques like ink blot test, memories, tree hugging and analogies, which many counselors  use .And being a Spiritual Coach and counselor  seeing cases like Kiara is very common.I personally have met people with insomnia or some kind of childhood issue or are targets of bullying impacting a person’s subconscious mind and it breaks my heart to see them suffering in a misunderstood adult life. Being a spiritual coach I believe that person’s mental state is very important and a tender topic to ponder upon. I personally loved the movie and watched it immediately even before the reviews came out and felt it was really a deep topic( not because it has SRK and I am an unrealistic

Victimhood

#victimhood #blame #miraclemindset Have you ever thought ...Why do some people get everything they want and live a life of miracles whereas the rest are just struggling in every aspect of life? Most of us think life is happening to us. So when bad circumstances arise we feel why is this happening to me? Why is God punishing me? Why me?.... But have you thought about it this way..wherever there is a problem..you are there?..yes bitter truth it is!  How many times you blame others or circumstances and say this happened because of this person or because of situations? I guess all the time isn't it? It is like blaming the driver for rash driving your car.  Well it is time now to take onus of your situation. To take onus of your  life. To stand in power. To sit in your drivers seat and take the charge of car of your life. Blaming won't help. It is the weakest emotion...saying I could have done this The key is to change your mindset to take 100% ownership of your life. Of both the go

The light worker

Today .. Tell someone how beautiful they are How they make you feel good  Tell someone that they are good enough  That they deserve the best and they should Tell a child a fairy tale and tell them to believe Tell every individual to dream and to live Tell them stories of hope, victory, bravery, faith and love Tell them  to believe in the one who watches from above In a world of sceptics , be a believer In the world of critics , be an admirer In the world of haters , be a fan In the world of robots , for God's sake be a Man  Be some one who shows light when it is really very dark We walk only once so leave your mark  - Ashwini ChubΓ© #lightworker #walkingmeditation #tor

Box of crayons

#boxofcrayons No one is really stupid  No one is dumb You may be just luckier than them! People are just wired in a particular way. They come from different backgrounds in life, have different belief systems and most important have different experiences or circumstances. A particular lifestyle which you may be living , they have never heard of. Something which they love to eat, you may not even know it exists.  Do not judge or criticise or analyse Each one is a different coloured crayon in a box of crayons.. Some may be broken..some faded and each will be different but it is together they make the box  #sundaygyan #unicorninsight #dontjudge

Choose what entertainment you watch

Researchers have found symptoms in those who watch news reports or videos about terrorism, war, and natural disasters. So if you were glued to your television set watching the footage of the events of September 11 or some other disaster, you may have secondary traumatic stress from that experience. Apparently the unconscious mind can’t distinguish between a trauma happening to you or someone else. Studies show that our stress hormone, cortisol, increases in response to our watching emotionally painful movies. This underscores the importance of using discernment and balance when watching news, movies, or television.  -Doreen Virtue  Don't Let anything dull your sparkle

Mood shifters and the 'Law of Attraction

' When you are happy you ll attract your desires fast. Manifestation is instant. This is because happiness attracts happiness. Your vibrations bring you closer to what you desire. So you will say, " how can i be happy if I didn't get the promotion or was stuck in traffic or just had a heated argument with my boss?" So here is a trick. After any such event which made you feel bad or sad or upset you can use a " happiness switch"  Have you ever walked in the scorching sun at midday for an hour soaring and perspiring at 36 degrees celsius and then reached home to switch the Air Conditioner on and felt instant relief. How was that possible? You were sweating about 10 minutes ago and it was too hot. So how did you manage to feel comfortable  within 10 minutes? It is simple.. You turned the air conditioner on and things changed.  Similarly, you have the remote control to your air conditioner of happiness. I call these 'happiness switches'. It is your choi

You always have a choice

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. - J.K. Rowling How much ever we crib, cry or suffer we always have a choice. Choice to make a difference. Choice to seek help. Choice to work towards making things better. Choice to stay in pillar of light. Whenever you are working towards resolving a problem, you ll hear lot of criticism. Many will tell you to accept the 'truth' and face it. And that things will never improve. But we should still work towards resolving it.  You ll hear lot of advice saying your goals are too big or you are too ambitious and there are 100 reasons why it won't work out. All these beings are in darkness and will try to drag you out of your light However you can always choose to shut the chatter of your own fears and that of others' fears. You have a choice to stay centred in your thoughts.  Today choose to stay in your light. Don't let anyone drag you in their darkness. Don't let anyone put their fe

Energy

Instead of talking Anti-war ..talk peace Instead of talking Anti-hate ..talk love Instead of talking anti- illness ..talk health Now some will say isnt it the same? The Answer is Ofcourse not..as the stress is still on HATE..when you talk Anti-HATE Focus on love And now instead of focusing energy on bashing or criticism..divert it to praise Instead of criticising the person you hate..praise the ones you love  Most will not agree .. But praising is Easier isnt it? life is meant to be simple.. And Energy is meant to be utilised for the right cause! Have a great weekend

Decoding the psychology of pessimism

Being pessimistic and expecting the worst is a posttraumatic symptom. It’s our misguided way of shielding ourselves from future disappointments, by not even hoping or trying in the first place.  Pessimism gives you permission to not even attempt something fulfilling or healthful. You decide ahead of time that it’s pointless to make an effort to lose weight, write that book, finish school, or follow your dreams.  In fact, the favorite phrase of pessimism is “Dream on!”—as if it’s crazy to dream about a better tomorrow. After all, if your yesterday was horribly painful, why should you expect today or tomorrow to be any better? It’s a negativity cycle, because if you don’t attempt to improve your conditions, then nothing will improve . . . and, most likely, things will worsen due to your neglecting yourself.” ― Doreen Virtue, Don't Let Anything Dull Your Sparkle: How to Break Free of Negativity and Drama  #breakthecycleofnegativity #pessimismsucks

Paint the town Red with gratitude

The biggest medicine to break patterns, get out of stagnancy and to improve any negative situation by converting it to positive is by the 'power of gratitude' No matter where you are today, just counting your blessings everyday will change your situation. Several studies have shown depression to be inversely correlated to gratitude. Philip Watkins, a clinical psychologist at Eastern Washington University, found that clinically depressed individuals showed significantly lower gratitude (nearly 50 percent less) than non-depressed controls Gratitude allows us to celebrate the present. It magnifies positive emotions. Gratitude blocks toxic, negative emotions, such as envy, resentment, regret—emotions that can destroy our happiness.Research says gratitude can reduce the frequency and duration of episodes of depression. Grateful people are more stress resistant  Grateful people have a higher sense of self-worth

Oh ..she missed the alarm today realising she was already late for work. It was already 7:30 am and she was supposed to leave by 7:45 am to reach at 8:15 and the time was too less to brush, have tea, shower ,wash her long hair ,dry them, style them , apply moisturiser and do the basic makeup. She hadn't even decided what she was going to wear. She never decided that. It was all about the mood of the day She quickly showered and semi dried her hair and wore the simplest black dress she had among some millions of black dresses from her wardrobe. Her face was puffy due to lack of sleep. She cursed herself for reading voraciously till morning and sacrficing her sleep. But there is no joy like reading she thought. But now she had to look good. Herve had asked her our for a breakfast and coffee date and why would she even say no to him. Sometimes you don't want to chose when it comes to the love of your life and love of books. Both are love. Malcom Gladwell's Blink still lay besid

Wearing Sport shoes is like marrying your best friend.

Image
The ultimate gyan for any girl. As we grow older we realise it all comes down to comfort. Pretty heels, Stilletoes, wedges, kitten heels is so good but ultimately we need something which makes us feel confident comfortable happy. All days and all roads are not the same. Sometimes we don't get a cab or a seat on the train. Sometimes it rains and sometimes it is just the pathetic road. But sport shoes are ever comfortable. Stilletoes may twist your feet, kitten heels might bruise you and wedges may sprain your ankle. But sport shoes will always  hug your feet on a bad day and support you when you have miles to travel. Very much like that best friend of yours who ll never judge you, always support your dreams and make you so comfortable that you never shy away from him. After traveling miles dating all the hot and not so hot, cheesy or desperate, obnoxious or manipulative, sweettalker or narcissistic, eccentric or traditional, suave or rugged and confused or aggressive men ..the world

Cricket and relationships

Image
My Analysis of cricket like relationships... Test cricket is like walking the beautiful city streets  and sipping wine with your best girl friend, followed by conversations that go for ever..chatting talking and texting for a year ..and one fine day kissing her passionately..and finally making out steamily and having sex rather making love under the stars while drinking wine..and proposing her with a ring One day cricket is like meeting a girl, texting her for a few days , taking her to a sexy pub on a date ...then walking back home and having intense sex ..not sure if you can get committed ..may be give it some time  20-20 is like meeting in a pub having sex on the bar table and before you know its over πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ And yes people still play test cricket 😍

Provence

Image
And i wish to make a house At a place like this one day Where streets are beautifully cobbled And walls are made in a stony way Where day begins with a breeze And ends with a street song  Where journeys are about walking On the streets so long Full of creperies , boulangeries , fromageries Each street has a charm Even on a cold winter day An onion soup seems so warm So I would grab a ticket soon As soon as I get a chance Pack all my fancy baggage  And escape to Provence in France

Love in the times of recession (Part 1)

A broken ring, a keychain, a lunch bill , a vogue magazine , many excel training manuals, excel shortcuts, cluster of green teas and a stack of letters wrapped in a pink satin ribbon...it was all in the pedestal ..It was Trisha's first day in Merrill Lynch. She was super excited to be in the new office. Sitting in her cubicle she was trying to get used to the new space. 3 months passed and she was dying of curiosity to whom it belonged. But opening someone else's private letters was rude." Oh..so it is you who sits at Patricia's desk", an fellow co-worker added. Trisha smiled coyly as she was never the social or extraverted one. She wanted to know more about Patricia, who was she , where she went ..but she never asked. Another 2 months passed and the team got a mail from the compliance division asking about disposing all the old papers in their drawers to the paper shredder. As a rule they were supposed to dump all the confidential papers older than 6 months in a c

What if?

"Oh no..not again "she thought before she went on another "date"on a Sunday afternoon to a neighbourhood CCD. Their horoscopes had matched and she was considered lucky to get even get this alliance at 'this' age. Her parents were desperate now. After all she was nearing her late 30s and was considered as too old in the "market"of marriage. Nothing mattered. Her degree in engineering nor post graduate in management , nor her art skills nor her state level championship in badminton nor her fitness or independence. In this marriage market she wasnt who she was. She was her " bio-data".. She was her " horoscope " ..she wasnt a person. So what? People in the past have married bio datas and have adjustedto live  happily ever after Today she had to "close the deal". Every time she went ,she only thought of her mom's worried face, dad's tensed mannerisms and her gossiping "well wishers" as well as friends who

You are born to fly

Image
I was sitting in my flight which was already late by a few hours. I opened a few magazines to read. The flight was still to take off.I always knew where I wanted to go." Better late than never " I thought. There was still some time to take off, and I hadnt still switched off my gadgets. The best thing I like to do on flights is to write. I feel that is the best time you get to write. Suddenly my phone rang. "Who could it be now I thought? I had already spoken to my family and close friends and told them I would be on flight. My caller id spelt Kamini  Malhotra. I  answered the call hoping to hang up quickly before the crew asked me to switch off my gadgets.  Hello I said.  "Hello Anahita.. How are you?" Although me and Kamini studied together in junior college we never really got along. I was still friends with her. We were friends may be for convenience but  we were always together.I was always the ambitious one. Dreaming big ..thinking sky is the limit. Kamin

10 commandments for being closer to your higher self in 2016

Image
What is higher self? Higher self or "Aatman"  in Sanskrit means the best or the highest version of yourself which is like the real self or your intelligent self which knows its mission or life purpose. It know what you REALLY want whether the world believes in you or not. It does not get offended or angry or scared and unconditionally loves everyone. But how do you connect to it. Although there are many ways to connect , the best thing to do would be to be closest to your real self.  Following would be the best tips to connect  1)  Daily spend time atleast 10 mins absolutely alone  even if you are busiest. This will help introspect 2) Write  gratitude  list daily:-) this attracts more blessings  3) Do atleast 20 mins of any cardiovascular  exercise  of your choice  to feel your heartbeats (yes they exist) . Ofcourse unless you are having any cardiac issues, consult your doctor then. 4)  Eat only when you are hungry  and not because you are bored or your friend/child/spouse is e
