Fairy Tales in 2011

Admit it ,at some point of time every girl believes in prince charming ..Someone who would sweep of her feet, make her fall head over heels in love with him, rescue her from the evil world and propose her with a big fat diamond ring to live happily ever after. As we row older and "saner" this becomes more of a myth,an imagination and dream .Very recently I heard Carrie Bradshaw(a fictional character) making a very strong feminist statement "What if Prince Charming had never showed up? Would Snow White have slept in that glass coffin forever? "

In todays world Snow White would not sleep in Glass coffin forever.Instead she would get up..spit the apple and perhaps find her  prince charming on her own.Hang on..may be first get independent ,find a job,a house to stay and eat a chocolate once a while
Cindrella would rather than finding Fairy Godmother to transform her, would  go to the parlour, get a facial done, use her credit card to shop for the party dress from a high ended fashion store, buy a couple of high heeled Jimmy Choo or Manaolo Blahniks and head to the ball .And she mite drop her blackberry pin to the prince rather than losing a Jimmy Choo. She would book an online taxi if the pumpkin cart or whatever is not available
Rapunzel would tell the prince to get a sky diving equipment to jump from the tower before the witch arrives.
The sleeping beauty would wake up after 100 years and first transfom her wardrobe to suit the fashion of the era.Make be work out  a bit to lose the weight she gained in 100 years of sleeping.
Also the Princess before kissing the frog would make sure he brushes and flosses his teeth and uses a mouthwash

All said and done perhaps this brings another question..As Carrie says " I couldn't help but wonder: inside every confident, driven single woman, is there a deliver, fragile princess just waiting to be saved?"
Perhaps yes.Every Confident Princess wants to be rescued at some point in time by her prince charming. But yes not without the solitaire ring
