The biggest medicine to break patterns, get out of stagnancy and to improve any negative situation by converting it to positive is by the 'power of gratitude'

No matter where you are today, just counting your blessings everyday will change your situation.

Several studies have shown depression to be inversely correlated to gratitude. Philip Watkins, a clinical psychologist at Eastern Washington University, found that clinically depressed individuals showed significantly lower gratitude (nearly 50 percent less) than non-depressed controls

Gratitude allows us to celebrate the present. It magnifies positive emotions.
Gratitude blocks toxic, negative emotions, such as envy, resentment, regret—emotions that can destroy our happiness.Research says gratitude can reduce the frequency and duration of episodes of depression.
Grateful people are more stress resistant 
Grateful people have a higher sense of self-worth
