Mental Illness, Parapsychology, and the Consciousness We Often Ignore

One of the most remarkable films I’ve ever watched is Bhool Bhulaiyaa—the original 2007 masterpiece directed by Priyadarshan. Beyond its gripping storyline and stellar performances, the film serves as a fascinating case study for anyone exploring the intersection of psychology and spirituality.
What sets this movie apart is its subtle yet powerful exploration of the spirit world. Without leaning too heavily into theatrics or fantasy, it introduces parapsychology—a term that resonated deeply with me when I first encountered it. I began to realize that healing psychological disorders isn’t always limited to medicine and therapy. Sometimes, there's a dimension beyond—the paranormal. A space that many shy away from or dismiss as superstition.
My own journey took a transformative turn when I became a practitioner and facilitator of Access Consciousness. That’s when I was introduced to the world of spirits and entities—not with fear or drama, but with ease, awareness, and curiosity.
For many, conversations about spirits are reserved for sleepovers and spooky stories. They aren’t taken seriously, especially in intellectual or scientific circles. But Bhool Bhulaiyaa changed that for me. It skillfully blends the psychological and the paranormal, making it one of the rare mainstream films to do so with authenticity.
Seventeen years after its release, I rewatched the movie during a family holiday in beautiful Bintan Island, Indonesia. What once felt like entertainment now unfolded as a full-fledged case study in healing, consciousness, and the unknown.
Let’s talk about the protagonist, Avni ( played by Vidya Balan)—diagnosed with multiple personality disorder. Because of suppressed childhood trauma, she begins embodying the personality of Manjulika, a woman who suffered immense tragedy in the same palace. The psychiatric explanation is straightforward: trauma, repression, dissociation. Akshay Kumar, who plays the psychiatrist, facilitates her healing through a blend of therapy and presence.
But here’s where the deeper layer emerges.
The film subtly hints that Avni’s condition is not just psychological. There’s an entity involved. And Akshay Kumar’s character doesn't just offer clinical treatment—he guides the entity to leave. It’s portrayed so subtly that the left-brained viewer might interpret it as a clever therapeutic metaphor. But for someone attuned to the spiritual realm, it's clear: this is an act of entity clearing.
In this reality - we learn that many conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) are indeed rooted in brain chemistry—but that’s just one piece of the puzzle. The other piece? Energetic interference. Spirits. Entities. Traumas locked not just in the mind, but in the energetic body. Also lot of trauma and abuse is locked in energy field and hence the healing may not be cognitive - but energetic.
Of course, mainstream medicine often dismisses this. We've been conditioned to believe that only the tangible is real. But just because you can’t see or prove something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Access Consciousness introduced me to a whole new paradigm. During my Foundation training, I was introduced to the concept of entities in a way that demystified them. There was no fear, no superstition. Just awareness. Like my mentor says: “Fear is a lie.” It’s often used to manipulate or limit us. Once you move past the fear, you begin to see a world of healing and possibility.
Later, through advanced courses like Talk to the Entities, and reading books like Shannon O’Hara’s Talk to the Entities, I began to deeply understand the link between mental illness and spirit interference. And most importantly, I learned how to navigate it—with tools, with consciousness, and without drama.
Coming back to the movie: if you’re someone who understands the world beyond the physical, you’ll recognize the subtle brilliance of the scene where the doctor ( Akshay Kumar) helps Avni release the entity. His mentor, played by Vikram Gokhale, provides energetic support—a detail often missed, but so vital.
We live in a world increasingly dependent on evidence, research, and clinical validation. While that has its place, it often blinds us to deeper truths. We’re currently facing a global mental health epidemic, and it’s time to ask: what if 30% of what we call "mental illness" is actually spiritual interference?
I’m not here to dismiss science. But I invite you to consider that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some people heal through medication. Others through therapy. And some through energy work and entity clearing. The real question is: are you willing to explore what truly works for you?
I’ve seen dramatic shifts in my own life. Between 2017 and 2018, I experienced deep sadness, self-doubt, and sleepless nights. But after discovering Access Bars and Consciousness tools, my life transformed. Today, I know what joy feels like—not a surface smile, but true inner peace. And even when life throws a curveball, I bounce back with ease.
People often ask, “Is this real, or are you just selling workshops?” But those who work in transformation know—this path isn’t about sales. It’s about service. We’re here because we’ve been through the darkness, and now we want to help others find the light.
If you’re going through a mental health crisis and nothing else seems to be working, maybe it’s time to open up to a new possibility.
What if healing lies in acknowledging the invisible?
If you’re curious to explore more, I highly recommend Talk to the Entities by Shannon O’Hara. Whether it resonates or not, choose what contributes to your life. Choose what brings you ease, joy, and freedom.
