So it is 2016 and not 1989. And if you are wondering this is the same story ..yes it is but with a twist

So Myra is staying with her father in a tier 2 city but ever since before dreams of working in a big company.After landing up with a high flyer job in XRNT corp - a Huge company in Mumbai ,her father suggests she should stay at his Friend Kishen's place who owns a duplex and a terrace in Bandra

But Myra stays on her own renting a flat in the middle class locality of Andheri. Myra makes a few friends in the city and in her office as well.

Soon she goes and meets her obnoxious uncle Kishan  who used to be her Dad's best friend in 1980s when both were poor and his wife the pleasant aunt Yashoda who adores Myra by the fact that she still touches the feet of elders and parties 'responsibly'.Uncle Kishan's cold behaviour doesnt affect her much and aunt continues to see a potential "bahu" in her.. Yes cliche but true

Oh well forgot to mention .. They have a handsome son who has been a gold medalist in London School of Economics and has had the most eligible bachelor statusever.But he is an adorable Mom's boy. He is comes back from London after finishing his studies to join his Dads company which is into Iron and steel in Mumbai. And he gets to become a VP ofcourse due to his multi millionaire son status

They meet in the iron and steel conference .So they exchange hellos and numbers for business networking become friends and then our richie rich Armaan aka the new generation Prem who looks like a younger version of Salman Khan particiates in a few golf and table tennis tournaments with her and they gel.

And our good girl Myra who is a 2016 version of Bhagyashree minus her shrill voice also gives him gyan of no smoking not just because it is injurious to health but also due to the heavy fine imposed on smokers. 

Our heroine  joins to the new year party with  25 other men and women who are potentially hitting on each other in all possible  permutations and combinations and partying as if there is no tomorrow. Our hero Armaan bumps into his London college time ex Riya who has come with her cousin Jai for another cousin's cocktail party. And Jai hits on Myra as she looks Bholi Bhali and after multiple fights and arguments where Jai calls Myra a s**t and makes Armaan realise that he and she are not platonic

Next scene when Armaan is going to the underpriviledged areas of Africa for a official trip as for a potential plant visit. She starts missing him and drops a whatsapp to him which he doesnt get as he is out of nerwork area. And instead of sending whatsapp she goes retro and sends him a text message..So peta is happy as kabootars dont need to be tested for the movie

The message reached delayed.. But Armaan sees it and realises, probably this is something..

He decides to meet her when back in Mumbai and they meet up in July when it is pouring in Mumbai when they happen to kiss and make out in the showers( dude this is 2016..We just cant expect flowers to kiss and apples to fall)

Fast forward... So on Myra's 30th birthday, he proposes her with a solitaire and they go for a cocktail dinner in a rooftop restaurant. And his mom happens to see his Facebook status as committed with Myra and is extremely happy. However Kishan uncle wants the bitchy Riya as the bahu for Armaan simply because her father claims to be a builder and has a posh flat in the plush Cuffe parade. 

When he finds out about Armaan and Myra he makes sure Armaan goes to London for a company assignment and Myra is fired from her job and is forced to move back to her home town. He hacks his son's account and sends a text to Myra saying it's over baby'

He shortly also makes Vodafone block her sim card( so dramatic!!) so Armaan cant contact her (so manipulative)

Armaan comes back with Myra's favourite shortbreads and some fantabulous wine but daddy dear makes sure, he keeps Armaan so busy that he finds  no time to meet Myra.  He doesn't hear from Myra and even goes to her flat but she is no longer there. 

But Myra isnt the meek Suman to give up and stay in a small town. She now gets back on her feet and opens her own brand of designer clothes for men by the name 'Armaan' ( awww she still loves him) and gets her papa ( our modern Alok Nath) along with her who has now made some cool contacts with powerful people in the city to start his own business. Armaan goes to meet Myra but she blocks him both on fb and all other media.. Papa now challenges Armaan to open a 'pret - a -porter ' equally good else he will not allow is daughter to marry him.

So our hero leaves his father's million dollar MNC to work with a few cloth specialist in Gandhi Market, Manish market and bandra linking road. He starts his own brand 'Myra' into women's apparel and for 1 year works hard to make it a success..( love isnt easy and quick these days too) ..

And then one fine day he acquires Armaan and the hostile merger gives much more synergies than before!!

Armaan and Myra now meet at a social event and realise all misunderstandings...the passion is ignited where they make love under the stars 😍

Kishen uncle is meanwhile duped by his new cunning best friend and realises his mistake only when our new Alok Nath buys 49% in Kishen's company thus saving it from being a titanic. 

And in all this, Myra and Armaan decide to now go and live in Paris to make their brand international..so well the uncles only have each other for now!!
